Assets: Overview
Assets are the resources owned by companies which can be hardware (temperature loggers, fridges, laptops), software (excel) and it belongs to the Domain and/or Entity. The asset management feature helps users to track and monitor assets. Asset features will be available only after enabling Asset management service under Configuration > Asset. The Asset module comes under master data setup and contains listing, creation/edit options and bulk upload options. Assets created in the domain, will be visible to that domain and all its parent domains. Assets can be of two types, and their properties vary based on the type:
- monitoring assets (eg. ILRs, deep freezers)
- monitored assets (eg. temperature loggers)
Navigate to the Assets page
- Click on Setup on the main menu
- Click on Assets in the drop-down menu
- Click on Create Asset tab in the sub-menu
Create monitored asset
1. Click on the Asset type field (MANDATORY)
2. Select the type of asset (monitored assets: ILRs, deep freezers, walk-in coolers or walk-in freezers)
3. On choosing a monitored asset (ILRs, deep freezers, walk-in coolers or walk-in freezers), another window will open at the bottom for asset capacity information
4. Enter the serial number of the asset (MANDATORY)
5. Select the manufacturer of the asset (MANDATORY)
6. Enter the asset model (MANDATORY)
7. Start entering the entity name and select from the options available
8. Click on the Owners field and select one or more owners of the asset
9. Click on the Maintainers field and select one or more users who will take responsibility for maintaining the asset
2. Provide asset capacity information for monitored assets
1. Enter the capacity of the monitored asset
2. Select the capacity metric
3. Save the information and create a new asset
1. Click on Save to save the information or on Cancel to quit without saving
2. A message will pop up to inform that the new asset has been successfully added
3. Go to the Assets page to view information about the new asset that has been added
4. The total count of assets will be increased by 1
Create monitoring asset
1. Click on the Asset type field (MANDATORY)
3. On choosing a monitoring asset (temperature logger), another window will open at the bottom for asset GSM information
4. Enter the serial number of the asset (MANDATORY)
5. Select the manufacturer of the asset (MANDATORY)
6. Select the asset model (MANDATORY)
7. Start entering the entity name and select from the options available
8. Click on the Owners field and select one or more owners of the asset
9. Click on the Maintainers field and select one or more names of people who will take responsibility for maintaining the asset
2. Provide asset GSM information for monitoring asset
1. Enter the mobile number of the asset
2. Select the SIM ID of the asset
3. Enter the SIM network provider
4. Enter the alternate mobile number of the asset
5. Select the alternate SIM ID of the asset
6. Enter the alternate SIM network provider
7. Enter the IMEI number of the asset
8. Enter the firmware version of the asset
9. Enter the GSM module version of the asset
3. Specify device configuration
1. The default is 'Don't push configuration to device'. To continue from here, just click Save to save the new asset or Cancel to quit without saving
2. Click on the button inn order to push default configuration to device
3. There is an option to Edit device configuration
4. At any time during the process click on Reset to default configuration to return to the deafult
5. Select Communication channel: SMS, Internet of Failover
6. Enter numbers of phones to send SMS notifications
7. Click on the notifications required from the options available
8. Enter the power outage alarm duration in minutes
9. Enter the temperature and duration for high temperature alarm limits
11. Enter the temperature and duration for low temperature alarm limits
12. Enter the temperature and duration for high temperature warning limits
13. Enter the temperature and duration for low temperature warning limits
14. Enter the duration and number of times for alarm frequency limits to send notifications
15. Enter the timezone, country and language to populate locale configuration
16. Enter sensor specific configuration
17. There can be more than one sensor for the device, if there is there will be multiple tabs
18. Uncheck the Use default configuration box to make edits to sensor-specific configuration
19. Enter sampling interval in minutes
20. Enter push interval
21. Select all the notifications to be pushed
22. Enter temperature and duration for high temperature alarm limits
23. Enter temperature and duration for low temperature alarm limits
24. Enter temperature and duration for high temperature warning limits
25. Enter temperature and duration for low temperature warning limits
26.Enter duration and number of times for alarm frequency limits to send notifications
3. Save the information and create a new asset
1. Click on Save to save the information or on Cancel to quit without saving
2. Go to the Assets page to view information about the new asset that has been added
3. The number of assets will be increased by one
