Entity Tags: Overview


Entity tags are used to bucket a group of entities under categories.

Example: In a manufacturing sector, they can be categorised as manufacturer, wholesaler, distributor, retailer etc


Entity tags are useful in the following scenarios:

  • While viewing entities under the entities view, tags can be used as the basis
  • While viewing transactions, current stock & abnormal events, entity tags can be used as a filter
  • While viewing orders, shipments and demand view, entity tags can be used as a filter
  • While viewing assets, entity tags can be used as a filter
  • Inventory, activity & temperature dashboards can be viewed based on entity tags
  • Stock prediction can be viewed based on entity tags
  • Most reports can be filtered based on entity tags
  • Some inventory & order related configurations can also be done based on entity tags 
  • Some inventory & order related notifications can also be done based on entity tags 


Navigate to the Tags configuration page

  1. Click on the Configuration tab in the main menu
  2. Select the Tags sub-tab from the drop-down list
  3. View the list of all the configuration option available


Configure entity tags

  1. Click on the type field under Entity Tags
  2. Type the entity tag 
  3. Select the highlighted entity tag
  4. Select the option 'Allow only tags defined above (i.e. no user-defined tags)' if new tags should not be allowed at the stage of entity setup
  5. Click on Save button at the end of the page to finalise these configurations

  6. View the confirmation that the configuration has been updated successfully

  7. To categories entities under these tags, refer to the entities section under setup.




NOTE
Multiple entity tags can be configured at the same time
