Create entities in bulk: Overview

Multiple entities can be created one after the other by following the instructions on the How to create an entity article, but the process becomes cumbersome when multiple entities have to be created. The Bulk upload feature can be used while creating multiple entities at the same time.

Navigating to the upload in bulk page

1. Click on the Setup tab on the main menu

2. Select the Entities sub-tab from the options on the drop-down list

3. Click on the Upload in bulk sub-tab

Bulk uploading entities

1. Click on Download data file format for Entities to download the file that has to be used to bulk upload entities

2.  Populate the excel file with details of the entity that is to be created

a. In column A, enter the type of activity that is performed. Add, Edit and Delete are the three available options. Here 'a' is entered since an entity is being created

b. In column B, enter the name of the entity being created

c. In column C, enter the name of the user to be assigned to the entity

d. In column D, enter the two digit ISO code of the country that the entity is located in, follow the link on cell D1 to ascertain the desired ISO codes

e. In column E, enter the name of the state that the entity is located in

f. In column F, enter the name of the village/city that the entity is located in 

3. Click on the Choose File button to select the file that has been filled up with the details of the entity to be created

4. Click on the Upload button 

5. On the confirmation pop up click on OK

6. A confirmation banner will now show up on screen indicating that the bulk upload is successful
