Messages: Overview

The app enables users to compose a manual message through a message composer user interface and define the audience to whom the message/push notification will be sent. There are two kinds of messages that can be sent through the application:

  • Text message: this is an sms sent to the user's registered mobile phone.

  • Mobile application push: Push notifications look like SMS text messages and mobile alerts, but they only reach users who have installed the app and have logged in. Push notifications are a way to speak directly to a user as they don't get caught in spam filters, or forgotten in an inbox.
